Racial Riots in Down Under

Haha..
I think i'm quite late in posting this up. lol
The riots started on Sunday and it's only now that i've blogged about it.
So loser.. haha
Hmm, it's not that happening, the way i see it. It's only a small percentage of people causing damages about recklessly. However, i think the way the situation was handled really sucked. There were indications that something like this is gonna happen somehow, someway.
But only warnings were given for people to stay away. And an increment of police troops. That's all.
There was no control over the media to tone down their way of reporting news. The news was sensationalized to the point it touched a raw nerve with the people and KABOOM! everything gets blown away.
Sunday's event: 5000 plus people + a few thousand bottles of alcohol = potential disaster.
It's kinda a monkey see, monkey do situation that day. One person starts bashing another up, the rest follows. A real no brainer situation.
A civilised country being portrayed?
Blah!
Machiam sheeps that follow blindly if you ask me. Or a bunch of drunkards for that matter.
Now they're regretting what they have done. Newspapers printed out apologies from the surfers for causing the incident. But i think it's too late. The lebanese and middle-easterns were so incensed by the stupid actions that they retaliated. The only way to stop them now is to let it die off. Haha. Serves them right for not thinking before acting. Now everything is out of hand. Hope they have insurance cover for their properties.. lol
Although some lebanese/midldle-easterns were at fault for causing this uproar in the first place; sometimes taking matters into your own hands would only invoke more troubles. The best way to handle it is to leave it to the authorities.
As John Howard says, Australia's a Western as well as an Asian country. But when you start paying attention to the Western and neglect the Asian, it's like a time bomb waiting to explode. Hope everybody realises that Australia's a cauldron of different races and stop being so insensitive. (I shan't call them racist)
ps: one of the riots took place near my place! At Maroubra! But shitty o'me was sleeping so soundly that i din even notice anything at all. lol
pss: This coming Sunday is another date to look out for. If nothing happens on Sunday, normalcy has been restored!
pss: i have lebanese friends also. hmm.. dunno if they're affected..
